The middle of the Quraan Majeed

Q: What is the significance of the word وَلْيَتَلَطَّفْ  in the Quraan Majeed?

Making a condition with one's wife that one will not marry a second or third wife

Q: Is it permissible to agree not to marry a second or third wife as a condition of a nikaah with the first wife? Is there evidence from the first 3 generations of Muslims (may Allah send peace and blessings on them) of such a condition taking place?

Muslims participating in the Amashova cycle race

Q: Amashova is a cycle race that takes place yearly between PMB and Durban. Many of our Muslims participate in it as a means of exercise and a fun, challenging sporting event. As a Muslim cycling, we generally have our satr area covered in the proper manner. Is there anything wrong in participating in this event?

Women attending a nikaah in the musjid

Q: My brother is having his nikaaah at a masjid in December. He is insistent that his future wife would like all the women to attend the nikaaah at the masjid. He says that there will be separate facilities and the women will be wearing masks as a hijaab. He wants hadith or a valid reason as to why women should not attend. He also says if Nabi (sallallahi alayhi wasallam) didn't forbid it then why are certain Ulama say its not permissible while other Ulama say it is correct to attent provided there is separation. He argues that my mother should attend and keep family ties.

Could Moulana please inform me from the hadith and teachings of our Nabi what would be the correct thing to do.

He says that he will not set foot in his mother's home if she refuses to attend his function at the masjid.

Meaning of competing with each other in good deeds

Q: What does it mean for a believers to compete with each other to do more good deeds than others? Won't it result in showing off?

Virtue of reciting ten aayaat at night

Q: I received the following Hadith:

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “The one who recites ten aayaat at night will not be written from those who are unmindful (of the remembrance of Allah Ta’ala).”

I would like to know which ten aayaat of the Holy Quraan are supposed to be recited.

Response to negative reports from the media regarding Islamic regimes

Q: I am very saddened by the way the media is reacting to Islamic Shariah and people want to run away from Islamic regimes.

From a practical point of view, how are women to be treated as per Shariah law so that they get proper education and are able to practice and follow an Islamic regime.

Taking out medical insurance to do a liver transplant

Q: I currently live in Bangladesh. My father suffers from liver cirrhosis. I have plans to do Masters or PhD in USA. It is recommended for my father to do liver transplant but currently the liver transplant is not available in Bangladesh and in India it will cost 1-1.5 crore Bangladeshi Taka(currency), which is out of my reach.

When I start PhD in US, will it me permissible for me to buy an insurance for my father, take him to US and do the liver transplant and then send him back to Bangladesh? I cannot find any Takaful Health Insurance in US and don't know how the rest of the insurance work there.

Will it be permissible in a case like this?

Men staying at home during ladies taleem

Q: Ladies taleem is arranged at different houses each week for 45 minutes. When taleem is at a specific house, can the men of the house still be there, in another room, as long as they don't interact with the ladies doing taleem? So as long as the men stay in another room, and dont walk pass the ladies, or directly overhear them, will it be ok? Or must the men leave the house entirely before the ladies arrive?

If yes, will there be a reduction in reward?
